Cinnamon is a spice that is used in all sorts of recipes. Cinnamaldehyde is a compound that is found in cinnamon and is the reason for its medicinal properties (Leech, 2017). Cinnamon helps fight inflammation, lowers cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, but it excels in the effects it has on blood sugar levels.
