My ecological footprint score showed that we would need 3.5 Earths if everyone lived the same way I do. I have to cut down on the resources that I use. I can use more food from the garden in my backyard and eat more fresh vegetables instead of so much chicken and steak. I can carpool to work and school to save gas and the carbon dioxide the car puts into the air. Then, I can cut back on the amount of water I use by turning off the water when I’m brushing my teeth or washing my car to help prevent a water shortage. Then, I can cut back on the amount of energy I use by unplugging my x-box, play station, cell phone, laptop and electric razor when I’m not using them. And, even though I like my house really cold, I could use less energy by keeping the air conditioner temperature higher. There are a lot of things me and my family can change to make a difference in my footprint and make the earth last longer.
