Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, may seem like a depiction of a love story on the outside, but on the inside it is much more complicated. The novel explains how hard it is to understand people after making peace with assumptions from the world around us, or our very own assumptions. The protagonist, Elizabeth Bennet, builds her assumptions towards a man based solely upon rumors and the man’s appearance. She does, however, find out that she was terribly wrong.
The main focus of the novel is on the personalities of the female cast, their lives and misfortunes, and the urge to gain happiness and acceptance.
